Attached are the minutes from this year's AGM held on Saturday 21st April at Lode Heath School

Recomendations from Veterinary advisor

This is a link to some fairly recently published research of heat stroke which I think will be useful to pass onto TOs, HJs etc.

Contacting BFA Officials

Committee Announcement
When communicating with any BFA officials, either in person, telephone conversations or written form, please remember the BFA code of ethics. Some recent correspondence to the committee and other BFA officials has not been in keeping with this and if necessary will be dealt with in line with the disciplinary process outlined in the rules.

Hot weather guidance

Hot Weather Guidance

With record temperatures being reached up and down the country (even in Scotland!) and the hot weather set to continue, the BFA Committee would like to offer some advice and guidance to TOs, Judges and members regarding the welfare of both dogs and humans whilst flyballing over the summer period.

Points Validation & Process

The Committee and Stats Officer have received numerous enquiries regading points allocation and validation checks.  Below is an explanation of the current and previous points systems.

The current system of uploading points has been in use since February this year. While it was being implemented, no points could be uploaded in January as the system used by previous stats officers had become defunct.

Regional Representative Appointments

The Committee are pleased to announce the appointment of new BFA Regional Representatives. Jax Bradburn from Commandos as Regional Representative for North & East Yorkshire - York, Middlesbrough, Harrogate, Selby, Stockton on Tees, Cleveland. Helen Seddon from Carry Ons as Regional Representative for Cheshire, North Wales, Shropshire & Staffordshire. We wish them both every success in their new Roles.

Kennel Cough Advice

As you are probably aware following last weekend’s competitions there have been reported cases of kennel cough from two primary teams. As kennel cough is highly contagious discussions immediately took place on limiting exposure and ensuring that the rules on infectious diseases are adhered to. The incubation period for kennel cough is 7 to 10 days which means that teams may have inadvertently attended a competition prior to their dog showing any symptoms.

Constitution & Rules of Flyball Racing 31 May 2018 - now in effect

The new BFA Constitution and Rules of Flyball Racing are now in effect.

An email has been sent to all Head Judges, Qualified Judges, Measuring Officials and Team Captains. Several emails have been returned undelivered so apologies if you have not received your copy. The rules are now available to download from the BFA website in the downloads section.
