BFA VIPER Update 11 May 2020
As you will have heard, Boris Johnson has started to set out the roadmap to recovery and an outline of how lockdown restrictions might start to ease gradually over the summer. The BFA will continue to closely monitor the situation but will only support the re-start of sanctioned Flyball competitions when it is clearly safe to do so and can be done in accordance with any guidelines issued by the government.
The safety of our members and our dogs, and the protection of the NHS is paramount.
Sunday's announcement shows we are only taking the first tentative steps along Boris’ roadmap, and that we still may yet have to go backwards. With nothing to suggest any significant change in the risks posed by Coronavirus or the lifting of lockdown measures, we have taken the decision to postpone the re-start of sanctioned Flyball competitions for another month. The BFA is therefore cancelling all shows currently scheduled for July.
The shows affected are:
* 4th/5th July - Bradley Mills, Penny Farm and Mapledurham
* 11th/12th July - Nidderdale
* 18th/19th July - Muswell Leys, Epworth, Imber Court and LochOre
* 25th/26th July - Drax
Stay safe everyone.
